Dr. Dorothy Girimonte is a board certified veterinary oncologist. From a young age she felt a passion for working with animals. Although she considered marine biology and zoology, after working as a kennel assistant during high school she was ultimately called to practice veterinary medicine.
Mississippi State University is where Dr. Girimonte received her undergraduate degree as well as her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She completed a residency in oncology at the Veterinary Cancer Center in Connecticut. She became board certified in medical oncology in July 2015 and later became certified in acupuncture through the Chi Institute in 2019.
Dr. Girimonte has worked in private practice in both NJ and CT, which is where she first experienced working with FidoCure®. She then joined FidoCure full-time in 2021 to help educate veterinary professionals about their genomic sequencing and targeted therapy options. She remained with FidoCure® for about 2 years before returning to private practice in South Jersey.
While at home, Dr. Girimonte has several furkids that keep her busy and enjoys reading, knitting, and attempting to have a green thumb.
Erica is originally from Philly but grew up in South Jersey. She graduated from Camden County College’s Veterinary Technician Program with honors receiving her Associate Degree in Applied Science and then became a Certified Veterinary Technician in 2014. While in school, she volunteered with spay/neuter clinics and worked at a local animal shelter.
Her nursing career began in general practice before she joined an emergency and specialty veterinary hospital. Erica started out in the emergency/ICU department where she was exposed to various veterinary specialties.
She then became an Internal Medicine nurse for several years but rotated through and cross trained in several specialty departments. That is when she developed a passion for Medical Oncology and the relationships built with patients and their pet parents. Erica has been a compassionate Medical Oncology nurse for more than 10 years and excels at client communication and education.
While at home, Erica enjoys spending time with her spouse and their furkids. She loves baking and trying new recipes.
